With the progress and development of technology, mechanical manufacturingtends to unmanned automated production, which requires realization of automation fordetection of products. In the mass production of bearing rings, due to human ormachine factors, some products may miss turning operation. On the one hand,it willlead to damage to finishing equipment for bearing rings unnecessarily. On the otherhand, once unqualified products go into the market, it will cause losses of economicand reputation to the manufacturers. At present, the detection of the bearing ringleakage processing most relies upon artificial visual inspection and sampling, whichwill bring the insufficiency of the subjective factors, for example: Work fatigue, staffquality and sense of responsibility and so on. And not all the products can be detectedby sampling which can’t guarantee absolute qualified products.In view of the leakage processing phenomenon of Channel, chamfering and sealgroove in bearing rings turning operation in the paper, a method based on machinevision and image processing technology is developed, which realizes on-lineinspection of bearing ring of all the products, guarantees qualification rate of bearingring products and improves production efficiency and product quality. This method isbased on LabVIEW software provided by the United States National Instruments asdevelopment platform. Domestic low illuminance1/3"VS-250DM black and whiteinterlaced scanning CCD camera,VS-0660M optical lens, and MV-U2000imageacquisition card are used for input device in hardware. Computer is used forprocessing device. Image information of bearing ring by CCD camera capturing is sentto image acquisition card in aid of the lighting equipment. After A/D conversion,analog signals are converted to digital signals which are put in the computer. Then inthe computer, based on the LabVIEW development platform, the image information isanalyzed, recognized, and then the result is output.In this paper, the detection of the leakage processing of bearing ring is mainly through information analysis of the image characteristics regions,and the result isobtained. So the core lies in the choice of suitable characteristics regions and thecharacteristics judging method of characteristics regions. the software, this article isbased on virtual technology in the LabVIEW development platform. The visualFunction in Vision8.2development kit is used to fit the image edge information. Basedon this fitting information to determine appropriate characteristics area, with simple,fast and accurate algorithm to deal with the characteristics of the bearing ring, thetesting results are obtained. In addition, in order to make the system operationconvenient, good generality, It mainly includes the following functions: login, check,test and statistics, etc.Through experiments, the proposed detection method is based on machine visionin machining processes of bearing ring. The interface is friendly, and the test resultsare accurate, fast, also have strong practicality and generality, which overcomes thedisadvantages of manual detection and improves the detection efficiency.
