Souvenirs are the monumental products that people buying at the travel time. In2010, by the national Ministry of culture, peony festival officially changed its name toLuoyang peony Cultural Festival, a national event. People can admire the beauty offlowers, play, buy souvenirs in Luoyang Peony Festival period. With the developmentof economy, people are not only admire the beauty of flowers but also want to buysome monumental products to commemorate this happy time.With the emerge of thetime souvenirs appear. China has become one of the most popular tourist destination,tourism vigorous develop rapidly, but compared with foreign countries, the developmentof tourism souvenirs of our country is still relatively slow that limited the overalltourism income growth. At present, the government started to pay attention to the designand development of tourist souvenirs, emphasis on all-round development of thetourism industry.Luoyang peony festival tourism souvenirs starts very late and developes very slow.Based on the field of investigation,the author found that the development of touristsouvenirs of Luoyang peony festival is not optimistic, mainly has the followingproblems: first,the characteristics of regional culture of souvenirs are not use completely,brands are not to know to people; second, souvenirs are crudely made, appearance isinsufficient, lack of quality, lack of commemorative significance, few varieties,packaging and price setting unreasonable, market planning is not clear and so on. Theauthor tries to study on the Luoyang peony festival tourism souvenir market to analysisthe existing problems, and puts forward the concrete scheme of souvenirs design anddevelopment, provide theoretical guidance for the design and development of Luoyangpeony festival tourism souvenirs and push for the all-round development of Luoyangpeony culture festival tourism industry.The main point of designing souvenirs is their memorial significance that only can be reflected by local culture.To design the souvenirs combined local characteristicswith the modern aesthetic is the focus of this article. Tourist souvenirs are thesymbolizes of the local cultural of an area. The paper are going to discuss how to designthe Luoyang souvenirs as following three parts.Firstly, summarizing the development status of domestic and foreign souvenirs, andintroducing the cultural features of Luoyang area. Secondly, investigating the presentsituation of Luoyang peony festival souvenirs to analysis the problems and find thesolutions, and also present point of view on souvenirs designing. Finally, giving fivedesign schemes to solve the above problems, and analyzing the development directionand the promotion of packaging design.This paper intends to take modern fashion design into the regional culture ofLuoyang.According to the horizontal and vertical development of Luoyang peonycharm, combining the traditional handicraft and modern design concepts to highlight thesouvenirs of the regional culture connotation, and promoting the development ofLuoyang peony festival tourism souvenirs.
