Steel-concrete composite structure is developed from the reinforced concretestructure, it takes full advantage of the steel and concrete material properties, high bearing capacity, stiffness, shock resistance and good dynamicperformance, member section size, construction quick and easy. Steel-concretecomposite structure has been widely used in multi-storey and high-rise housing,long-span structures, high-rise structures, bridge structures, undergroundstructures and structural retrofitting realm. So far, the reinforced concrete beams-steel reinforced concrete column node has a lot of experimental and theoreticalstudies, has accumulated a wealth of experimental data. In practical design, thejoints with outer stiffening ring were used to connect concrete beam andlaminated steel tube column. The seismic behavior of the joints with outerstiffening ring with various lengths was studied based on experiments. Strength, stiffness, ductility, energy-consuming capacity, deformation property and straindistribution law of the joints with outer stiffening ring with various length werecomprehensively evaluated based on the results of three specimens underreversed cyclic loading combined with finite element analysis. The test resultsshowed that the failure model, hysteretic behavior, strength and stiffnessdegradation law of the joints with outer stiffening ring with various lengthswere almost identical. Also, the strain distribution laws of the outer stiffeningring of the three joints were nearly the same. And high strength, ductility andenergy dissipation capability were obtained. In addition, for the same nodespecimen, external strengthening ring the greater the distance away from thebeam end, the smaller the strain; for different nodes in the specimen outside tostrengthen the same location on the ring, the strain values are closer. It can beobvious that the specimens of the three nodes outside to strengthen the ringstrain distribution law is very similar, and thus that the outside to strengthen thenodes of the ring length of different specimen force is basically the sameperformance from the microscopic level. Based on the test results, theoptimization construction were proposed for the concrete beam and laminated tubes column joint with outer-stiffening ring, so the seismic behavior of thejoints could be ensured due to the convenient construction.
