In recent years, engineering circles pay attention to cold-formed steel as anefficient and economical profile at home and abroad. In this paper, the seismicperformance of the cold-formed steel and one-story one-span frame as the main bearingelements was carried out in-depth research by the experimental study and finite elementsimulation.In the experimental study of cold-formed thin-walled framework, four steel framesof one-story one-span were designed. Beams and columns were made of a combinationof cold-formed lipped channels, and the shape of the cross section of diagonal brace wasthe bracing equilateral single angle section. Lipped channels are connected by a high-strength bolts and gusset plates. Bracing and gusset plates are connected by high-strength bolts. The test of seismic performance of the framework are mainly changed bybracing layout and axial compression ratio, it gets the framework in the low cyclicloading around the hysteresis curves, skeleton curves and stress distribution, the framestiffness degradation, ductility, energy dissipation capacity and the mechanism of thedestruction is studied. The results show that specimen failure modes are pulled off thenet section bracing, beam ends and column foot appear local instability and failure, theeventually destroy the framework is the overall instability and failure. The load bearingcapacity of each cycle of each specimen degenerated steadily, the influence of numberof cycles of the bearing capacity of the specimen was smaller. The framework of cross-bracing arrangement of carrying capacity reduction is greater than the arrangement ofone-way bracing. With the improvement of the load levels, the initial specimen stiffnessdegradation is obviously. After the specimen yield, the stiffness decline was steeper,crossing bracing arrangement of frame stiffness degradation of magnitude is greaterthan the arrangement in the form of one-way bracing. With the improvement of the loadlevels, the energy dissipation coefficient of the specimen and the equivalent viscous damping coefficient are reduced. Compared the equivalent viscous damping coefficientof the specimens with other light steel structure, energy consumption performance isbasically in the same place.In order to compare with the test results, there are4test group specimens by finiteelement software ANSYS12.0under the same condition. The model of the4frameworks is created in the same size. After the set of material properties, the set ofbolt, the set of contact elements, modeling, meshing, the setting constraints and loading,solving and post-processing, the affect of bracing arrangement and axial compressionratio to the seismic performance of the specimen were analyzed, and the resultscompared with the analysis of the experimental structure.
