With the more and more commonly used of Bus rapid transit system in China,theresearch of it’s planning and design has become a hot issue. This dissertation is aimed toenhance the convenience of passengers’ travel and transfer. The paper proposes acalculation method of passenger arrival and transfer time in intersection rapid bus station.Thesis algorithm to calculate the time index of each form of sites, thus makes aquantitative comparison of the results, so that provides the basis for the schemecomparison of BRT station design.First, This paper introduce the arrangement, classification, advantages anddisadvantages of Bus Rapid Transit Station, Then summarize the layout andcharacteristics of the intersection Station, analyzes the influencing factors of the rapidtransit station arrangement, and choose the intersection passenger arrival and transfertime, as the main indicators of the evaluation method.Soon afterwards, the paper focuses on the evaluation method of passenger arrivaland transfer time in three cases which are most common used in BRT station design. Theresearch idea is divide the processes of passengers get to and transfer between the BRTstations into several parts, then analysis the influencing factors of walking time incorresponding part to determine the the variables and parameters of the formula. Thus getthe formula of index in each situation.Afterwards, the article further analyzes the situation of the station combinationarrangement which has more than one Bus Rapid Transit Corridor. The calculationmethod calculated the time consumed by passengers get to and transfer between the BRTstations in different site layout forms. Then comparison the size of the results, so that toevaluate the applicability of each arrangement. Provide a quantitative reference for howto select the appropriate site layout plan according to the arrival and transfercharacteristics of passenger flow from each direction.Finally, we analysis a numerical example, assumed a typical passenger status,calculate the corresponding evaluation index value, then get a recommended programwhich is consistent with relevant experience.
