With the deepening of enterprise informatization and the development of networkedmanufacturing, people need to input graphics engineering data into text engineering data,thus more and more image-text mixed engineering data appears. However, the expressionof the text engineering data and graphics engineering data is inconsistent on productplatform of CAD, CAPP and PLM. This results in the inconvenience for the visualizationinput of image-text mixed engineering data in these platforms; also, the semantic-basedunified storage of the text engineering data and graphics engineering date cannot beachieved, which is not conducive to the extraction and sharing of image-text mixedengineering data. Therefore, this paper made the following studies:Firstly, after the analysis of engineering data, especially the analysis of image-textmixed engineering data semantics, the paper put forward the conceptions of semanticentity, the minimum engineering semantics and engineering semantics. The paper alsogives the expression model of engineering semantic and the expression of self-definedsemantic entity font. Then the paper gives a detailed introduction of engineering semanticrepresentation model, which lays a solid foundation for the visualization input, display anddata extraction of image-text mixed engineering data.Secondly, in order to realize the sharing of image-text mixed engineering data, thepaper uses XML language to describe representation model of engineering semantic, andgives the description method of engineering semantic representation model for XMLSchema specification library.Thirdly, the paper proposes the concept of display engine for achieving the control ofthe image-text mixed engineering data visualization. The study introduces the controlevents and control parameters of display engine, displays processing procedures, andpresents location algorithm and positioning mechanism of image-text mixed engineeringdata.Finally, the paper presents the realization of image-text mixed engineering datavisualization components, and describes in detail the visual components’ each hierarchy ofthe overall architecture, as well as the application examples in Tianyu CAD and InteCAPP.It includes the uses of visualization components in Tianyu CAD and InteCAPP,visualization input of image-text mixed engineering data, as well as modifications of theinterface and semantic entity custom interface.
