As one of the important products’ quality indicators, reliability has been very givenwidespread attention in many fields such as electronics, machinery and aviation. Thepromotion and application of reliability can bring huge economic benefits for enterprise.This paper makes a study on reliability analysis technology of engine processingequipment.Three reliability analysis models based on performance degradation are presented:reliability analysis based on pseudo lifetime distribution, reliability analysis based onperformance degradation distribution, reliability analysis based on random coefficientdistribution. The calculation programs writted by Matlab are given. Performancedegradation test is developed for a machining bit which is used in an large automobilemanufacture enterprise. The performance degradation datas can be acquired by the test. Thereliability indicators of bit are calculated by the proposed models. And the results arecompared.With taking environmental loading into account, a new reliability evaluation method ispresented based on the analysis of performance degradation and environmental shock loads.Firstly, according to the performance degradation data, the statistic model based on randomcoefficients multivariate distribution is given for the analysis of continuous degradationprocess. Then, the model of shock loads based on Poisson process is used to analyzediscrete degradation process. Finally, the distribution function of actual degradation isgotten by the accumulating of degradation to improve the accuracy of reliability evaluation.According to the crack degradation of engine processing equipment rotor, the results ofreliability evaluation of metal material performance degradation verify the correctness ofthis method.Taking the equipment spot inspection and maintenance information managementsystem(EMIMS) of an engine factory as project background, the reliability analysis modelbased on the fault tree for mechanical processing equipment is presented. This model isused to analyze the failure trees both in qualitative way and the quantitative one. Then thefailure modes and relevant reliability information of machining equipments are acquired.A reliability analysis system of mechanical equipments is built by advanced computerand network technology based on the above models. This system realized theinformatization of reliability analysis of the mechanical processing equipments in thisengine factory. As an important part of EMIMS, the analysis results provide the theorybasis of maintenance decision.
