With the problems of the energy shortages and environmental pollution becomingmore serious, the research of clean energy and engine electric control technology is gettingmore and more attention. The gas genset uses natural gas engine to move generatorproviding power. The frequency of the gas genset is a very important value of itsperformance. To control frequency is to control speed of the natural gas engine. So thispaper aims at designing the electric control system of a natural gas engine moving agenerator, including the model building and simulation of gas genset, the design of the gasgenset control strategy, simulation of the gas genset control system.Fisrt, analyze the basic working principle of natural gas engine electric controlsystem and its composition, including air intake system, natural gas supply system, thenbuild the Mean Value Engine Model of natural gas engine with the help of GT-Power,including training correlated variable using neural network and revising some loss. Afterthe analysis of the matching between natural gas engine and the generator, carry on theresearch of the strategy of the gas genset and design the control strategy of natural gasengine electric control system based on PID control and Neural Network control. At last,carry out the simulation and test the control strategy. The results show that the controlstrategy designed can realize our expected goals that the engine speed has a good stabilityand the gas genset has a stable operation.
