Research Of VRB And Its Aplication On Doubly-fed Wind Power Generator

In order to solve the global problem of energy scarcity, new energy distributedgenerations develop rapid. New distributed generation energy have dispersion, randomnessand volatility characteristics, which effects on power grid stability and reliability and limitthe development of new energy. Development of energy storage devices which distributedgeneration match with can improves the reliability and stability of grid-connecteddistributed generation. It is one of the key factors to solve the problems of large-scalegrid-connected renewable energy distributed generation. In various types of energy storagedevices, all vanadium redox flow battery (VRB) energy storage have advantages of longlife, fast response and environment-friendly, which have more superiority in improvestability of the grid with large-scale grid-connected renewable energy distributed generation.So, this paper researches on VRB basic characteristics and its aplication on wind distributedgeneration system.Contents of this paper are divided into two parts, one is the researche on VRB basiccharacteristics, another is the aplication of VRB on the wind distributed generation system.VRB basic characteristics researched in this paper contains VRB electrochemicalcharacteristics, VRB model and the SOC estimation. The SOC estimation of VRB is theemphasis. We introduct requirement of wind turbine low voltage ride through capability,and proposed a new strategy based VRB energy storage system to enhance the low voltageride through capability of Doubly-fed Wind Power Generator, and analyze the effect of thisstrategy by simulition in The other part.
