With the rapid deteriorating situation of global energy and environment,energy-conservation and emission-reduction gradually becomes a hot topic in our times.The technology of energy-conservation and emission-reduction plays an increasinglyimportant role not only from international cooperation to national strategy, but also fromthe development of social economics to the rising citizen living quality standards,especially in the industries. As a result, a series of science and technology for this area arespringing up all over the world, among which HTAC and SCR stand out. However, theirapplications didn’t go very smoothly because of some defects. In order to overcome thesedrawbacks, a new technology came into being, combining advantages of these twotechnologies. There is no doubt that it can bring vitality to further development. In thisstudy, Active Temperature Range (ATR) in different conations, the key issue of thecombined application skills, will be analyzed.Through the combination of numerical calculation and experimental methods, thisstudy focused on the ATR’s existing and limiting factors. Based on the formal researchfindings, a simplified thermodynamic model is put forward and then validated by a set ofexperimental data. According to this model, ATR is mainly influence by threefactors inlet gas temperature,switching time and the length of regenerators, which arelimited by two index efficiency and pressure performance of the regenerator due to itscharacteristics. With the help of numerical calculation, we can study the law of ATR indifferent conditions, as well as provide theory for the experiment. This experiment testedthe temperature distribution of regenerators and the length of the ATK under differentinlet gas efficiency and diverse length of regenerators.The results show that the APK can exist under the common conditions of industrialapplication, meaning that the combined application skills are feasible. Besides, the threemain factors do have an important influence on the ATK. In addition, when comes to theinfluence of the length, APK is deeply limited by the pressure performance of generators while not limited in other cases.
