In order to ensure the urban sustainable development, to realize rational developmentand utilization for urban underground space, we should make urban geological informationdigitized, which the3D model for urban underground space should be constructed. It is notonly the important researchful direction about geological modeling, but also the hot spot inengineering application fields of3D modeling nowadays. Aiming at engineering geologicalcharacteristics of Shijiazhuang, regarding interactive modeling method for the stratifiedgeologic body based on drilling data and stratigraphic profiles as the basis, the author putsforward an effective multi-layer DEM surface model, and uses the improved Delaunaytriangulation to generate the main TIN. The main TIN template is used to all strata, whichgreatly simplifies the complex topological relations among3D geological bodies.Stratigraphic level data is used for spatial interpolation to reconstruct stratal interface. Eachgenerated formation interface based on the layered soil lithology and stratigraphic erashould be stitched, generated to be a stratal entity model in modeling regional. Finally inview of the basic theory of computer graphics, author utilizes the OpenGL technology torealize rendering for generated multi-layer DEM model, so that author achieves the aim of3D visualization operation for terrain and stratal structure in the modeling area.On the basis of principal theories about surface intersection and stitched formationinterfaces, the system can automatically generate geological sections. The geologicalsection map generated automatically by system is compared to2D profile map fromoriginal data, so that the process can provide the calibration and correction for drillingdatabase. And the paper discusses how to solve errors, which would appear when thesystem automatically generates the geological section. The spatial distribution of solum atdifferent levels is demonstrated one by one in order to help geological workers withgeological evaluation and engineering decisions.
