By the end of2012, the world has produced more than1billion cars. Howevertraditional gasoline internal combustion engine cars not only consume the ore energy,but also emit a variety of harmful gas, polluting the environment. Aiming at theproblem of energy consumption and gas pollution, the plan, named The’ TwelfthFive-Year’ national strategic emerging industry development planning, takes newenergy vehicles as a key development object. Compared with traditional gasolineinternal combustion engine cars, new energy vehicles have a clear edge in the aspect ofenergy conservation and emission reduction.Nevertheless, at present the bottleneckrestricting the development of electric vehicles is the energy storing device. As theenergy storing device, power storage battery has much room for improvement. Thetraditional charging method cannot follow the best charging curve completely. Thecharging method needs improvement at the aspects of electrical energy waste, lowefficiency, polarization and gassing. It requires us to take measures to improve thecharging method and charging equipment to make the charging system efficient andreasonable.This paper mainly aims at the study of power battery charging technology forelectric vehicle. This article describes the various parameters and electron chemicalreaction of the MH-Ni power battery. Based on the Malus Law, the paper analyzes theproblems of traditional charging method. Aiming at the functional quality andapplications, the paper proposes changing current depolarization pulse charging methodon the basis of traditional charging method. The new method can reduce thephenomenon of polarization and gassing greatly. This paper gives a concrete realizationmethod of the charging system including the charging control strategy, the designprinciple of each hardware module, the circuit principle diagram and software designflow chart. The major contents in this paper include:1)At first, the paper briefly introduces the development direction and the researchsignificance of the power storage battery. Based on the feature of electro-chemicalreaction principle and the charge and discharge characteristics, the paper analyze thecharging process in detail, then point out the defect of the traditional charging methodand compares them with each other.2)This paper proposes a new charging method based on the merits and faults of thetraditional method named change current depolarization pulse charging method. Thenthe paper suggests the theoretical foundation, the control method and the feasibilitysolution of the new charging method. Trials about the new charging method show thatthe charging control method improves the charging efficiency. The system does havesome practicality3) In this paper, a power battery charging control system is designed. Main circuitincludes the bridge controlled circuit、battery electric energy feedback circuit. Thecontrol system includes two loops: an outer voltage loop and an inner current combining PI regulation. This paper presents hardware schematic diagram and software designflow chart, and the improved system is tested.
