With the needs of economic development and construction, China’s highway mileageincreases year by year, intercity passenger traffic and freight logistics continues to grow. Inrecent years, the major accident of passenger and dangerous goods transport occurred inshocking. Compared with ordinary traffic accident, those accidents have greater economiclosses, more casualties and serious environmental pollution. Therefore, in order to reduce theaccidents, monitoring and management is particularly important. However, China still lack thereal-time, dynamic, and effective monitoring and management measures while the existingmonitoring facilities penetration is not high enough. This results in that we cannot get thewarning notice in time to take appropriate remedial measures to avoid accidents before theaccident may happen; and can not get the message of the place of danger and the situationafter an accident occurred, especially for the dangerous goods transport accidents, measurescan’t be taken in time because each department can’t know the type of dangerous goods, thisresulting in delay rescue time, causing huge casualties and property losses.The study targeted for the real-time dynamic monitoring on passenger vehicles anddangerous goods transport vehicles. According to the design specifications and guidance ofnational standards for passenger transport and dangerous goods transport vehicle monitoringsystem, the study use sensor networks as the primary parameter capture technology, combinedwith positioning technology, multi-sensor data fusion technology, and3G communicationsnetwork, to set up a real-time monitoring system for passenger and goods transport vehicles.Based on the acquisition and analysis of environmental parameters, the system introduced aride comfort evaluation systems for passenger vehicle, and safety state grade assessment isput forward for dangerous goods transport vehicles. The system can achieve real-time,dynamic, and effective for data collection, analysis and early warning, it has the practicalsignificance to reduce the accidents losses, and improve the safety operations level etc..
