With the development of society. In today, ropeways have been used in many fields.Ensuring their safety of operation is the priority among priorities in the management, andthe phenomenon of rope detachment is the important factor,which affects the safeoperation of the ropeway. Thus, there has been a lot of ropeway detection methods wereapplied in the actual life, including the PLC monitoring system, the mercury switch andswitch etc. These methods not only need to design circuit and corresponding hardware andinstallation, but also repair is not easy. In the actual using, they will come easily detects anerror, and their reliability is not strong, which constitutes a great threat to people’s livesand property safety, so we need to put forward a new method for detecting ropedetachment.Firstly, the testing principle of the subject is analyzed, designing appropriatedetection scheme, in which, selected the suitable collection solution by comparing, anddescribed in detail, and also introduced the information about hardware and softwareneeded in the detection system, designed flow chart for system.Secondly, according to the requirements of the detection system, selected theappropriate digital image processing techniques, designed three kinds of imagepreprocessing schemes and two line detection schemes, and the technologies wereintroduced in detail, analyzing their advantages and disadvantages. In order to improve thedetection performance of the system, this subject selected the suitable technology for thissystem,.Finally, based on MATLAB software, got the detection results of different schemesadopted, through statistical and comparative analysis, found the advantages anddisadvantages of each detection scheme, and analysed the factors that affect the accuracyof the detection system, took appropriate measures in order to improve it, such as settingthe security range, etc. With the development of technology, the detection system willhave a good prospects.
