The general optimization design of UUV include strength and stability of pressure hulland light hull, rapidity, maneuverability, energy system, low noise and other aspects, thecomplexity is obvious. In the real engineering, comprehensive optimization design problemof UUV is often processed in accordance with sequence, ignoring the relationship betweeneach subject, so the traditional UUV optimization design often gets local optimal solution,rather than the global optimal solution. At present, the countries of the world have donesome simple performance and simple objective optimization research on low resistance,noise reduction, ship type, structure of UUV, which achieved reliable optimization results.However,there is no best solution for comprehensive optimization problem of structuralcharacteristics and hydrodynamic performance of UUV, which is multi-functional andmulti-objective.Therefore,the comprehensive optimization of performance is an importantelement in design of UUV.First, the paper selected43variables from the UUV characteristics, and built thecomprehensive optimization constraints. The paper established a structural characteristicsand performance comprehensive optimization mathematical model of UUV, whichconsidering the structural characteristics of pressure hull and light hull, hydrodynamicperformance, energy system.Secondly, conducting genetic algorithm, chaos algorithm and parallel thought toconstruct a new optimization method that combined all of them. Then it was combined withcomprehensive optimization mathematical model and the paper used VC++language todevelop a comprehensive program of structural characteristics and hydrodynamicperformance of UUV. A large number of calculations show that the operation of theoptimization process is accurate,efficient and reliable.At the same time, the paper calculated within the range of a certain scale resistance ofUUV by Fluent software, the paper calculated and analyzed the structural properties of asimple ring-ribbed cylindrical pressure hull by MSC.Patran software, and the results areused to establish the comprehensive optimization mathematical model and the analysis ofthe optimization results.Finally, the paper optimization solved and analyzed from the comprehensiveoptimization of the pressure hull and light hull, the comprehensive optimization of hydrodynamic performance and energy system, the comprehensive optimization ofstructural characteristics and performance,etc. A large number of calculations show that themethod offers an effective way to solve the problems of the multi-objective,multi-constraints, multivariate engineering optimization and design, and the method isstable and reliable. Meanwhile, all these had laid a good foundation for the comprehensiveoptimization of UUV.
