Gyrowheel is a new kind of spacecraft attitude control and measurement device, itcan work as actuators with the ability of the output of control torque like VSCMG and thesensors with the ability of measuring the spacecraft’s attitude like DTG at the same time.With this characteristic, Gyrowheel can reduce the spacecraft attitude control system’ssize, mess and cost. It is of great significance for the development of the small satellite.This article first introduces the mechanical structure of the Gyrowheel, it can be seenas a DTG. Because of this kind of mechanical structure, it has a special dynamic tuningproblem. On the basis of above, we talk about how it works as a part of ACS systemand its mathematical modeling. We use Lagrange dynamics method and Euler dynamicsmethod with diferent characteristics. And then, we use SimMechanics multibody dy-namics model to validate the established mathematical model and get the correctness ofthe mathematical model. With the resulting model, we obtain the linear work scope ofGyrowheel by analyzing the open-loop characteristics of Gyrowheel. Through the analy-sis of nonlinear time-varying model’s nonlinear terms, we establish the simplified modelinstead of the complex nonlinear model in the linear work scope and laid the foundationof the engineering applications. Modeling is an important research content of this article.Through the modeling we turn the Gyrowheel problem from a physical problem into amath problem. On the other hand, according to the momentum theorem, Gyrowheel canoutput control torque by changing the direction and size of the momentum of rotor. Butthe Gyrowheel is a two input two output system, we use the proper decoupling to turn themodel into two single-input-single-output systems. Finally, this paper will give the designof the variable parameter controller. And we discusses the probability of the time-sharingmultiplexing method and real-time measurement method. At the end of the full text, weuse the thought of sensitivity to analyze the the main factors of impacting the accuracy ofmeasurement and complete the preliminary optimization of the Gyroflywheel system.
