The semi-active control system based on Magnetorheological (MR) dampers,possessing key performance advantages, including low power consumption,continuously controllable large force output, and convenient integration withcomputers, are promising to be a new generation of dampers for vibration control incivil engineering. And the MR damper integrated with power generation ability orsensing ability has been the research hotspot which has many advantage includingsimple configuration, convenient connection, and high reliability. This paperdesigned a non-contact phtotoelectric speed sensor firstly based on previous studiesfirstly. And then a power supply device was conducted with motors. The maincontents of this paper are as follows:The factors those have effect on the error of the speed-obtain algorithm wasanalyzed in theory. The result showed that excitation frequency and sample periodhad significant influence but not the amplitude. And high accuracy could be realizedwhen it was used to detect variably accelerated motion if the sample period wasshort enough.On the basis of commercially available optical mouse, a Non-contact SpeedMeasurement is put forward and the working performance and feasibility wereinvestigated experimentally. The result showed that the sensor worked well whenthe excitation frequency was low with the maximum relative error11%. Theoscillator frequency of the optical mouse was only15kHz. This means the time fromthe beginning of the data transition to the end should be at least5milliseconds. Andthe data register of the sensor based on commercially available optical mouse onlyhas9bits, enhance a large scale of the velocity could not be detected.A Non-contact speed sensor based on STC12C5A60S2MCU and ADNS9500laser stream gaming sensor was designed. And the detail process of hardware designand software design are presented in the paper. The result of the test demonstratedthat the resolution of the sensor was0.018mm/s, the measure range is0~3810mm/s,which can satisfy the engineering demand. And a experiment of the self-sensing MRdamper is carried out. The results of experiment show that the sensor can work welltogether with the MR damper.On the basis of commercially available motor,a energy output device wasdesigned preliminary and theoretical analysis was carried out. The result showedthat resistance of the motor, the magnetic induction of the permanent magnet and gear ratio had significant effect on the voltage of the induction coil and could beused to select the proper motor for the MR damper.The motor of which diameter is51mm,resistance is3.6ohm,gear ratio is18.5was used. The maximum voltage of the induction coil was4.65V, and the averagerectified voltage of the coil was3.29V, the power is8.1W when the excitationfrequency was0.5Hz,the amplitude was25mm. It could satisfy the requirement ofthe MR damper. So the energy output device could be used to power MR damper.
