The form of underground complex is the inevitable trend of urbanization in thecenter of city re-development of three-dimensional. The complex underground is animportant utilization of urban underground space and one of the closest relationshipwith the person’s physical and mental experience, in which people can stay up in thelongest public spaces in the underground. The feature of the underground complex:the complexity of the public space, the article focus on the problem of design incomplexity of public space in underground complex.Firstly the article bring forward the basic concept of the underground complex.Based on the basis of foundation research of the current situation, with theenvironmental psychology, architecture and psychology, environmental vision theory,statistical theory, analysis the characteristics of the environment cognition andcomplexity in the underground complex. Overall summary of research results, Discuss the underground complex present situation and the insufficiency, compositespace and the trend of integration underground complex with city elements. Theobject of this paper is the design of the public space of the complex underground,specifically, the author try to classify complex space of underground complex, inaccordance with the difference of internal and external space it is divided into twocategories: First, the composite of the public space in the underground complex;Second the relationship between the underground complex with the city.For the former classification the author mainly discuss the design principles andstrategies. From the viewpoint of complex space form and interior space of theirorganization. For the latter classificationthe author studied the relationship changes again in today’s society with the city, thusthe research in urban elements and integrated design methods.Through the above-mentioned study, to look forward to this study is able to playthe role of reference for the future design of the underground complex.
