With the rapid development and application of electric vehicle drive, integrated starter/generator,as well as the renewable energy generation, the performance and the reliability of power electronicinversion technology have been given increasing emphasis. The conventional inverter circuit issubject to certain limitations in the practical application due to the topological concepts limitations. Inrecent years, as the Z source inverter proposed, because of its unique structure and circuit work mode,it arouses a lot of attention.Based on the profound understanding of Z source inverter, and referring to the shoot-throughzero vector theory, a tapped inductor single-stage boost inverter is proposed in this paper. A series ofresearches are conducted. First, the paper introduces tapped inductor single-stage boost invertertopology and its working principle, and gives a brief analysis of the tapped inductor leakageinductance circuit, and introduces the suitable modulation method and control strategy at the sametime. Then, this paper puts forward the dc side small signal model of tapped inductor single-stageboost inverter, using state-space average method. By analyzing the impact of impedance networkparameters and shoot-through duty vary on the system, this paper designs DC bus voltage regulator.Second, this paper studies the application in electric vehicle drive and electrolytic capacitor lessdrive respectively. This paper gives the qualitative analysis of the battery terminal voltage drop on theperformance of the drive system, and an electric vehicle drive control strategy which is proposedbased on the tapped inductor single-stage boost inverter, as to realize the effect of compensatingbattery voltage drop as well as improving the output torque above base speed. In the meanwhile, thispaper brings forward an improved tapped inductor single-stage boost inverter, which has the powerfactor correction function, and a constant voltage frequency ratio control, vector control strategy isproposed based on the topology, in the realization of the input power factor correct, with input voltagesag resist ability and the output power ripple rejection ability.Finally, this paper briefly introduces the hardware and software system of the tapped inductorsingle stage boost inverter.
