Passenger ropeway is a very important transport which is able to cross a mountain, river, andadapt to a variety of complex terrain, meanwhile it is an ideal means of transport to be used for tour inforest parks and scenic resorts. The operation of the passenger ropeway may result in danger. Thesafety of the passenger ropeway must be considered in priority. It is essential and necessary to designa real-time monitoring and fault diagnosis system for passenger ropeway equipment.In order to design a monitoring system of the passenger ropeway, the division of hardwarearchitecture and classification of monitoring signals are studied in this paper according to differentcomponents and information types. Statistics about the proportion of faulty equipment at domestic andforeign cableway accident are gathered to establish the classification of the cableway faultinformation and to construct an information fusion fault diagnosis model. Overall the design and thesoftware development of signals monitoring and fault diagnosis system are carried out, includinggondolas positioning module design in the running of passenger ropeway, monitoring and diagnosis ofpassenger ropeway running parameters condition module design and data fusion algorithm moduledesign which contains batch estimation theory and D-S evidence theory. In the process, the parameters,such as the temperature and the pressure which are important signals of the passenger ropeway aredealt. The signal monitoring and fault diagnosis system of this dissertation has the functions ofpositioning gondolas of passenger ropeway, monitoring and diagnosing of the passenger ropewayrunning state parameters, locating faulty equipment and troubleshooting etcetera.A real-time fault diagnosis system of the passenger ropeway based on a multi-information fusioncan help staffs to determine its deep-seated reason according to the faulty phenomena in the shortestpossible time, which provide monitoring foundation and effective solution for the trouble eliminatingas soon as possible. The real-time monitoring system of the passenger ropeway is developed and theperformances of the fault diagnosis system of the passenger ropeway are improved. Also it providesstrong technical support and operation security for the safe operation of ropeway.
