In the traditional steel plate shear wall system, the plain carbon steel is selected forthe infill panel. In this paper, aluminum alloy plate shear wall put forward, whose infillpanel is replaced by aluminum alloy, with a low yield point and low elastic modulus.At present, few studies of the aluminum alloy plate shear wall are found at home andabroad. With the finite element numerical analysis method, this paper performed aseries of analysis, which contained the elastic buckling analyses and the hystereticperformance analysis under cyclic load. Meanwhile, this paper took the synergisticeffect of the aluminum alloy plate and the frame into account. The main researchcontents and results are listed as follows:1. Aluminum alloy plate shear wall ideal model was founded with BEAM188andSHELL181elements, whose beam-column joints and column foot are ideal hinged, inorder to ignore the impact of the steel frame lateral stiffness. Elastic buckling analysishad been carried out to study the effects of different parameters on the elastic bucklingstress of aluminum alloy plate shear wall. The results show that height to thicknessratio of panel λ, stiffness ratio of stiffener to panel η and column stiffness β have agreat effect on the elastic buckling stress of aluminum alloy plate shear wall.2. Through the analysis of the aluminum plate shear wall, the critical stiffnessrequirement’s calculation formula of surrounding column of the aluminum plate shearwall was obtained. Post-buckling analysis had been carried out to study the effect ofaluminum alloy plate’s tension field on the frame column. The results show that thealuminum alloy plate have low effect on the surrounding framework.3. Hysteretic performance analysis had been carried out to study the effect ofdifferent parameters on the hysteretic performance of aluminum alloy plate shear wall. The results show that slenderness ratio of panel λ and stiffness ratio of stiffener topanel η have a great effect on the hysteretic performance of aluminum alloy plate shearwall. However, column stiffness β have litter effect on the hysteretic performance ofaluminum alloy plate shear wall, when its moment of inertia meets the requirement.4. A rigid connection frame steel plate shear wall model was founded withSHELL181element and the calculated and experimental results are in good agreement.The synergistic effect of the aluminum alloy plate shear wall and the frame was carriedout by replacing the material constitutive relation. Post-buckling analysis of thealuminum alloy plate shear wall with different connection forms (the rigid connectionand the semi-rigid connection) had been carried out under the monotonic load andcycle load. Meanwhile, the influence of slenderness ratio of panel λ and stiffness ratioof stiffener to panel η on the synergistic effect were considered. The results showedthat different connection modes have unobvious effect on each performance ofaluminum alloy plate shear wall.
