As the increase of national economy, there are more and more automobiles possessedand used, thus bringing energy crisis and environmental pollution. Because internalcombustion engines have the most energy efficiency, it will still be applied for the widestrange in the future. In order to conserve energy and reduce emission, people have been doinga lot of work, which could realize the high-efficiency and clean combustion in the internalcombustion engine.Traditional combustion modes have reached the maximum limit at the aspect of emissionand fuel use efficiency. To break through the limit and realize the requirement of energyconservation and emission reduction, homogeneous charge combustion ignition was presentedat the end of20th century and researched by experts at home and abroad as a new combustionmode. This mode adopt advantages from gasoline and diesel engines, and have the researchsignificance at the aspect of energy conservation and emission reduction with high thermalefficiency of combustion, low NOx and PM emission, wide fuel source. In spite of alloutstanding advantages of HCCI engine, but it has to face the challenges of combustion phasedirectly controlling and operational range remarkably extending and high HC emission etc.In order to solve those problems of HCCI combustion, the researches have carried out,by means of inlet heating, variable compress ratio, VVT, internal/external EGR, fuelreformation and DI etc. Undoubtedly, Fuel reformation is an effective method to controlHCCI combustion. Up to now, fuel reformation only use the variable in-cylinder pressure tocontrol the reformation phase, therefore, our team based on the method of installing a phasecontrollable on-board fuel reformation system to primary engine to search HCCI combustion.In order to achieve fuel on-board reformation system, based on the simulation before andthe research achievements at home and abroad, we design the fuel on-board reformationsystem on the test engine. Then we established the whole model of the system usingMatlab/Simulink software to analyze some parameters which influence the valve dynamicresponse and optimizing the parameters thus providing the theoretical basis to realizeon-board fuel reformation HCCI combustion.
