The south line of Sichuan-Tibet highway can’t meet the service demand because of thequantity and large scale of the geological hazards which also break out frequently, this sectionof Sichuan-Tibet highway also has another weaknesses such as low technical index, a lot ofsteep slopes, lack of subgrade protection and drainage engineering, low level of trafficcapacity and anti-disaster ability. As well as other trunk highways in Tibet, The south line ofSichuan-Tibet highway almost uses semi-rigid base asphalt pavements entirely except somecement concrete pavements are used in water sections. Along the subgrades were influencedby moisture, loose deposit, seasonal freezing and thawing, widespread inhomogeneousdeformation, which significantly affected the service life of pavement performance andservice life, subgrade non-uniform deformation of semi-rigid base asphalt with adaptabilityobviously inadequate. The adaptability of semi-rigid base asphalt to subgrade non-uniformdeformation is insufficient obviously. Graded crushed stone has the ability of deformationcompliance, good drainage performance and recycling use, graded broken stone baseflexible pavement can suit to the subgrade non-uniform deformation. But the gradedcrushed stone layer structure stiffness is small, plastic deformation is larger under vehicleloads. Therefore, based on the lateral restraint and the net effect of geocell, this studyreinforced the graded gravel layer structure, in order to enhance the overall carrying capacityof flexible pavementBased on the vertical deformation of geocell reinforced gravel layer structure underdifferent load position, this study determined the worst load location, through loading platetest of geocell reinforced gravel layer structure under different condition, this study analyzedthe influences of the geocell size, packing, sub-layer modulus, which were related to the layerstructure vertical deformation, plastic deformation, deformation modulus and elastic modulus.According to the deformation of structure and geocell, analyzed the reinforcementmechanism, By grey correlation analysis and experimental results, the main parameters ofgeocell reinforced gravel structure were determined, parameter selection wererecommended. The research results show that the load position in the chamber hole is theworst load position of reinforced gravel layer structure, Geocell has a good reinforcementeffect on gravel layer structure, vertical deformation and plastic deformation of gravel layerreinforcement structure decreased obviously, deformation modulus and elastic modulusincreased significantly, geocell size, packing, sub-layer modulus have certain influence on the bearing capacity of gravel stratum structure and reinforcement effect.
