With the rapid development of our national transportation industry, the quantity and scale of the tunnelconstruction has gradually risen and construction trough complicated geological environment such as faultfracture zone has also been frequently encountered. For the low bearing capacity and the lack of globalstability, it is easily to gather ground water in this sort of zone. And this would cause geological disasterssuch as water burst, mud inrush and collapse. When constructing, these disasters would seriously threatenthe safety of construction and delay the schedule. If the disasters couldn’t be predicted or treated properly,it would not only effect the quality of the construction but also threaten the operation circumstance afterconstruction. So it is necessary to conduct research about the geological disaster treatment to water burst,mud inrush and collapse in fault fracture zone.This article takes Lingjiao tunnel which comes form the highway from Cenxi to Shuiwen for instanceto discuss the treatment to these disasters when crossing the fault fracture zone.For the first, the reason of water and mud inrush happened in this tunnel is analyzed based on thecombination of disaster site survey and the geological and hydrological specialty of Lingjiao Tunnel.For the second, The article uses the experience of other country for reference to compare and analyzethe principle and application range of earlier timbering and reinforcing methods which are always adoptedin fault fracture zone. After comparing those earlier timbering, reinforcing and excavation methods bynumerical simulation analysis method, the combination of shed-pipe grouting and radial groutingtechnology and the three bench excavation method have been chosen as the optimal proposal for Lingjiaotunnel construction.As the result, through analyzing the measuring data gathered from the fault fracture zone, we can findthat the tunnel arch top settlement and periphery have converged to a reasonable range. This proves theproposal presented in this paper could meet the requirement of tunnel construction and be a reference toother similar construction.
