Remote Sensing Technology is an emerging technology in the application of highwayflood disaster; it has many advantages, such as wide field of vision, objective or promptlydata acquisition. It has become a new means in large-scale, rapid access and mastering ofdisaster information of the road. Remote Sensing Technology is of great significance whenused in road flood disaster prevention for obtaining the scope of inundated waters, analyzingconditions of flooded roads, and obtaining the early warning monitoring value of water levelwhen inundated reaches. It provides an important early warning and monitoring services forfloods on the highway.Firstly, the article describes the main types of road flooding and road hazards caused byfloods. Through the parametric analysis of remote sensing technology, we can choose theappropriate satellite for road flood disaster. And then get the research of waters identification,road hazard recognition and identification of the damage disaster of the road. There are twomain methods in recognition of damaged roads, which are single-level and multi-levelapproach method. And the multi-level approach is the primary.Secondly, the paper studies the match of remote sensing data with network’s spatial data.So we can get the real-time information about highway network before and after the flooddisaster. And then, according to the real-time of remote sensing images about disastermonitoring of the road flood, we can grade the flood disaster on the highway in accordancewith emergencies.Again, the paper sets up an early warning level based on the grade of roads’ flooddisaster. According to the information obtained by various early warning, we can notifytransportation departments at all levels to make flood preparedness. And the paper alsointroduces some related emergency technical approaches.Finally, the occurrence of roads flood disaster is mainly due to the short period of heavyrain or rainstorm. This paper analyzes China’s highway’ flood disaster in time and spatialdistribution. The intensity is different in different regions. The remote sensing technologyobtains this information combined with information about the relevant departments, and itprovides an important support for the early warning about the flood disaster on the highway.
