The karst area in central of Shaanxi weibei refers to carbonate distribution area whereloess-tableland uplifts in the north of WeiHe. It is located in the semi-arid area and known as"dry belt". Drought and lack of water seriously restrict the development of economy in thearea. On the contrary, the region had abundant deep karst groundwater resources. Thedevelopment and utilization areal concealed karst groundwater resources had become animportant measure of region economy development. Even more important, JingHeDongZhuang hydro-junction project as No.1project will be the largest and highest dam inShaanxi province. Since the full launch on February242013it has caught the attentions fromall sectors of society. However, the reservoirs built in the region had been sufferring karstleakage problem in different degrees. Of course, the karst leakage problem of DongZhuangreservoir becomes the focus concerned by government departments, academia and civilians.Therefore, it is of great significance in theoretical research and practical application to carryout the study of the hydrogeological problem about DongZhuang reservoir karst leakage withthe isotopic and hydrogeochemical method.This paper applied the environmental isotopic and hydrogeochemical method with amainline of recharge-runoff-drain conditions of the region karst groundwater and under theconstraints of karst geological and hydrogeological conditions. The paper mainly carried out aseries of researches included the recharge-runoff-drain conditions of Shaizhudong spring;the hydraulic relation among atmospheric precipitation, karst water, JingHe water andbedrock fissure water; the hydrogeological significance of main faults and so on. It providedaccurate and reliable isotopic and hydrogeochemical evidences for the related problems.Suchas the hydrogeochemical characteristics of the karst groundwater in the study area and thewater chemical action; the dissolution-precipitation principle and its evolution process on theregional karst groundwater flow path; the environmental isotopic characteristics of the karstgroundwater about δD、δ18O、3H、Sr, the recharge sources and flow paths of Shaizhudongspring and its mixing proportion、recharge elevation and average residence time.
