The Traffic Safety Warning System Based On Video

Along with the rapid growth of our country road construction and the car number, trafficdemand has increased dramatically. And the traffic safety problem is increasingly prominent.Video-based traffic safety warning technology is proposed in this paper. It implements thetraffic information detection and warning to strengthen road traffic safety. The system mainlyincludes:1．The subsystem of rapid detection and identification of traffic information based on video.It includes traffic parameter (such as, vehicle detection and statistics and the speed of vehicle)detection, traffic event (such as, pedestrians, vehicle retrograde, lane changing, parking, throwlitter, traffic conditions) detection and traffic intelligent identification. The traffic informationintelligent identification module mainly completes information fusion and decision-making,and distributes warning information to passing vehicles.2．Intelligent vehicle display subsystem. The vehicle display terminal is developed inembedded ARM development platform. It can receive the released warning information andremind the driver of current traffic conditions in the way of sound and vision to ensure safedriving.3．Wireless communication subsystem between the road and vehicles.3G wireless networkis used to implement the information communication function between vehicles and road.Including follows: in the vehicle and road collaborative active security warning applicationenvironment, a suitable wireless communication network is chosen and network performanceparameters(such as time-delay, packet-loss-rate and the available bandwidth of network) aremeasured to evaluate network performance whether can meet the actual demand.In this paper， rapid detection technology of video-based traffic information, wireless communication technology between vehicles and road and display fusion technology of car are used to make the detection, information fusion and warning information releasing of traffic information. Those remind drivers to take measures to avoid accidents or secondary accidents and improve the traffic safety. Experimental results show that: the system is real-time and has theadvantages of rich information content, flexible setting up, low cost and high accuracy. So itcan implement the traffic safety warning function in highway, road and other important areasor road, and it has a good application prospect.
