As a potential two-phase heat transfer system, LHPs had been largely studied, especially the flow and heat transfer of the evaporator which included the formation of thetwo-phase region and the phase transition process related. This paper established a modelwith the one-dimension analysis method of flow and heat transfer, realizing the coupledresearch of component level and system level while associated with the heat transfercharacteristics of the loop. The exploring study presented the condition of the two-phasezone formation for the theoretical analysis and experimental research. The theoretical analysis mainly focused on the various factors of the two-phaseregion formation in the wick, such as the inlet liquid subcooling, effective thermalconductivity, external loop resistance, the heat flux, which were associated with theoperation of system. It was of great significance to the characteristics and the modelingoperation of evaporator that analyzing the influence of the parameters on the two-phaseregion formation and the thickness of vapor with the model.Experimental research mainly devoted to the influence of system parameters on thetwo-phase region formation through the relevant data from the experiment. The systemangle and system filling ratio were sdudied. The analysis on the two-phase regionformation reflected the virous thickness of vapor and the influence on the capillarylimitation. The results showed that the capillary limitation of system was ahead by thevapor layer in the wick.
