The use of structural vibration control can effectively reduce the dynamic response ofstructures under earthquake loading, reduce or avoid the damage of structure caused byearthquake loading. Compared with the active, the semi-active control can obtain theresemblance performances and it does not need the large amount of external energy supply.Now the semi-active structural control becomes the most promising control method. Dueto the complexity and uncertainty of civil engineering structure, the classic semi-activecontrol algorithm is difficult to achieve good effect. Therefore, the research anddevelopment of new structure semi-active intelligent control algorithm is of greattheoretical and practical significance. Ant colony algorithm is a kind of bionicoptimization algorithm, it has strong robustness and excellent distributed computationalmechanism, it has excellent performance in solving complex optimization problems. Thesemi-active control for structures can be thought of as constraint optimization problems,ant colony algorithm has a broad application prospect in this field.The paper according to the characteristics of the semi-active vibration control forstructure, referencing ant colony algorithm is used to solve TSP problem, improved antcolony algorithm. Based on ant colony algorithm, it design and realize the MR semi-activecontrol system, and detailed method and steps are given. To validate the validity of thealgorithm, it set up simulation model simulate the structure vibration under differentcontrol algorithm with MATLAB/SIMULINK.The simulation results show that the ant colony control method can obtainengineering control effect without requiring exact models in the MR semi-active controlsystem. It validates the validity of the algorithm.
