The heat exchanger is an important supporting assembly for automotive airconditioning and commercial air conditioner products. Micro-channel parallel flow heatexchanger is a plate-fin heat exchanger, which has significant advantages compared withother types of heat exchangers. Its outstanding feature such as environmentally friendly,energy efficient, saving material and reduce costs.Domestic and international studies have shown that, parameters of the structure andsize of the cooling unit fin will have a critical influence on radiator cooling. That is whatdescribed in this article.The study includes the following aspects:First of all, model of the fins for computer simulation is established. The concept ofcomputer-aided simulation analysis method and the typical CFD software FLUENT areintroduced. Fin’s theoretical analysis of numerical methods and mathematical model iselaborated. And a briefing in shutters fins of highly efficient micro-channel heatexchanger is given. Then fin’s thermodynamic numerical analysis by FLUENT using aset of specific parameters is accomplished.Secondly, verification of the calculation method is complied. Chang and Wang’sexperimental correlations are employed. And the effectiveness of computer numericalmethods is verified by using Colburn factor j and friction factor f as comparativeindicators and comparing computer numerical calculation and the calculation results ofthe experimental correlations. Then a brief introduction on the fin’s work area flow fieldcharacteristics is draw by demonstrating the distribution of velocity field of the flowfield.And then, the analysis of the affection of fin’s structure parameters on the heattransfer performance by control variable method is carried out. Finally, optimal design of fin dimension parameters. Optimization analysis methodis introduced. And the objective function is set up to find out the optimal parametervalues by extreme value method. Then the fin’s two important structure parameters areoptimized by using this method.
