Energy resource is the power of human society sustainable development andeconomic growth. However, the discrepancy between the depletion of the Earthresoueces and the continuously increasing consumption of the energies is increainglydrastic. Improving utilization efficiency of enercy is an effective measure to solve thisproblem.Technology of heat transfer enhancement, which can improve efficiency of heatexchanger and reduce equipments weight and volume, is always attached importanceto by scientists and engineers, and widely used in the refrigeration, power, metallurgy, chemical industry and other fields. The field synergy theory, which was first proposedby Professor Guo Zengyuan, a Chinese scholar, point out that reducing the anglebetween the velocity vector and the temperature gradient is an effective measure toenhance heat transfer, and provide a new way for heat tranfer enhancement. In this paper, the fluid flow and heat transfer in laminar zone and transition zoneof two new enhanced heat exchange tubes---corrugated tube and alternating ellipticalaxis tube were studied, guided by the field synergy theory and utilizing the softwareof Fluent to simulate. And analysing heat transfer mechanism and summaizing heattransfer characteristics of the two new enhanced heat exchange tubes by comparingwith the reference tubes.Using PEC as evaluation standard, to determine the optimal size by changing thespecific size and comparing with each other of the specially shaped pipe with thesame shape.
