According to the application requirements of the assembling jig during weldingoperation of automobile body panel, a new-type parallel configuration fixture ispresented for automobile panel welding, this paper complete all these works to theparallel configuration fixture, such as configuration design, kinematics analysis,mechanism of each component modeling, control system design, collaborativesimulation platform construction work, and construct a virtual prototype system basedon LabVIEW and SolidWorks software to the automobile body panel weldingoperation parallel configuration fixture. The study includes the following aspects:1. Configuration design and kinematics analysis of the automobile body panelwelding operation parallel configuration fixture. Based on the analysis of weldingfixture on the function, composition and working principle, using parallel mechanisminstead of traditional fixture support institutions, complete configuration design to theautomobile body panel welding operation parallel configuration fixture; According tothe mechanism kinematics model and velocity mapping model, do analysis of parallelmechanism kinematics performance, including analysis performance of the singularityand dexterity, stiffness and workspace.2.Structure design and modeling for the branched-chain lever of parallelstructure and motor selection is made according to the force situation in welding workand the accuracy of job requirements. During the branch facility design and modeling,the motor and ball screw driver is confirmed as the branched-chain driving modewhich describes the structure design and basic movement principle of expansion link.It relates the opreating principal of ball joint and Hooke hinge, counts the liner of balljoint on the basis of calculating method from some references and obtains the linerdata. The design of moving platform is mainly considered easy setup of all kinds ofwelding jig, so it designs diffirent sizes of boltholes in order to fasten jigs withdiffierent bolt. On the design of static platform, these factors are considered such asthe effects on installation of Hooke hinge, the weight of the platform itself and thefloor space. According to the external load which is beard by the motor in weldingwork, the power of the motor is caculated to determine the type. At last, do assemblydesign of the entir branched-chain.3.On the electric control, senser selection, creation and parameters configurationof the parallel structure fixture are proceeded. LabVIEW platform is used to plan motion path and programme sequence control logic. The programming examples aretaken to illustrate the diffierence between serial mode and parallel mode in motionfunctions and the record function and the read function to explain the programmingmethod of sequence control logic.4.A virtual experimental platform of parallel mechanism is established to realisethe co-simulation of LabVIEW-SolidWorks and detailed description of process andannouncement. Through case analysis, the kinematic mechanics parameter, the kineticparameter and the key parts’ finite element analysis of parallel mechanism jig areobtained.
