The Jinlong Hydropower Local LCU Design Control Unit

Hydropower station’s monitoring system is the foundation of hydropower station’s integrated automation and it is the precondition to realize the unattended mode too. Along with the speed development of computer technology and electronic technology, the hydropower station’s monitoring system with advanced technical functions and the advantage of stable and reliable running is used widely. The key point is to raise the level of CSCS(computer supervision and control system), and the main part of it relies on the function of LUC(local control unit).Firstly, this paper reviews the history and trend of CSCS and LUC for hydropower plant both at home and aboard. On the basis of summing up the existing research, is intended as a general description of the overall design of the dragon hydroelectric power system, combined with the requirements of Jinlong hydropower LCU device, programmable controller and touch screen control.Then, according to related rules, hardware system design and software system design of the new LCU are described in detail. Hardware system design includes hardware type selection and hardware structure configuration of LCU and other devices. The system used touch screen as human-machine interface in LCU and configurations were made according to the system function, including the interface of generator sets, open and stop control, temperature monitoring interface and the alarm window interface. Electrical drawings of the final design of the entire unit LCU screen.After design, the improved control system has been put into operation successfully and practice proved that this system could satisfy the request of spot’s actual application and could achieve the expected goals, the system has superior performance and great benefits are brought to the hydropower station. All these really lay foundations for unattended mode in Jinlong hydropower station.
