Infilled frames framework is a widely used in all types of building inChina.However,due to its brittleness nature,the ordinary masonry infill walls bringdestruction beyond the expected upon itself,but also cause great impact on the bearingcapacity,stiffness and failure modes under seismic action of the structural body.Theresearch team proposed the related concepts of damping infill walls by combining thespecific form of the infill walls affected by earthquake damage and energyconsumption principle of viscoelastic damper,In addition,the structural performancehas been studied from the following aspects:1)On the basis of the experiments carried out,the finite element models was builtfor empty frame,ordinary infilled frame and damping infill frame by using ABAQUS,the software of finite element analysis,and the pushover analysis was conducted.Wehave validated the accuracy of the model created by comparing the curve ofexperiment and the curve of the simulation analysis. We have studied the impact ofdamping infill walls on such performance of structure as load-displacement curvesand stress distribution,and studied the working mechanism of damping filled wa lls。2)On the basis of accurate modeling method,numerical models of two-tier andthree-tier damping infilled frames has been established and a series of parameteranalysis was conducted.Thus we studied the respective impact of the elastic modulusof the viscoelastic layer, the thickness of the viscoelastic layer, the averagecompressive strength of the infilled walls on the working performance of dampinginfilled wall frame under horizontal force。3) On the basis of simple structure of4-story single-baya,we establishednumerical model respectively for the simple framework, damping filled wallframework,the two-tier damping infilled wall framework,three-tier damping infilledwall framework and carried out modal analysis and frequent earthquake responseanalysis.By comparing the analysis result of these models,we studied the impact ofinfilled walls and damping infilled walls with different structure on such performance as vibration period of the multi-layered framework、formation mode、top floordisplacement curves under frequent earthquake.
