To improve the automation and intelligence level of the traffic information detection technology. This paper makes an analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of the existing vehicle detection technology and RFID technology characteristics.Then it considers applying RFID devices of vehicle information detection, and taking it as the front-end information perception equipment. Based on the integration of necessary network transmission equipment, embedded gateway control equipment and background data processing equipment of control center, a comprehensive perception system is constituted to collect, transmit, analyze, process the traffic information.The system consists of road traffic information collection system, data communication network system, the embedded gateway control system, traffic data processing system of control center. Road traffic information collection system mainly uses RFID acquisition device to test the vehicle information and traffic parameter information. The ZigBee wireless network technology is introduced to realize the function of short distance data transmission in the Data communication network system. Moreover, with the help of Ethernet, the control center and the intersection can communicate with each other between base stations and the vehicle sensors nodes. The embedded gateway control system takes the embedded microcontroller processor S3C2440A as the core, which is Arm9-based architecture. And complied with the certain operating system software and hardware resources, it can provide a data transmission interface between the sensor nodes and control center, and also play a role of information fusion, communication protocol conversion and data exchange. A PC is taken as the server in the traffic data processing system of control center. We can program to realize the function of network data transceiver, RFID tag information’s storage and processing, traffic information query, database storage and operation, information display, control instructions conveyance and RFID device configuration, under the development environment of the VC++6.0software in the windows operating system.Based on RFID, this paper has designed a model of traffic data fusion, according to the need. Firstly it uses the method of solving the relationship between matrix, multiple sensors integrated to make an information fusion in the spatial domain, then it also make a time domain information fusion for the output data of last information fusion in the spatial domain with using classic three layers BP network algorithm, and ultimately gets traffic fusion results. The BP neural network parameter adjustment depends on the momentum vector algorithm with the combination of the adaptive adjustment algorithm. Then based on RFID, a kind of road intersection traffic congestion evaluation model is proposed in this paper, according to the formation characteristics of road often hairstyle traffic congestion. This model uses the relationship between traffic flow, vehicle time share, the average speed of place to make a judge of road intersection traffic conditions. Finally, using the observed data and the MATLAB simulation, two models are verified to be effective.Finally, based on RFID in the real environment, this paper build a practical model of intelligent traffic information perception system, on the basis of the design of hardware structure, equipment selection, software architecture, functional modules, the label information coding and database. Moreover, the practicability of the system is verified through the experiment. It proves that this system can provide a new mentality for the scheme of transportation service and management, traffic prediction and guidance, traffic control and command.
