The Design Of Embedded Smart Meters Based On PROFIBUS

In recent years, with the rapid development of Smart grid, it put forward strictrequirements for Smart Meters. It not only needs to strict control of the quality ofelectrical enerty,accurate measurement of electri power that used, but also requiredto communication with bus, compose a network, a interacts with the customers.Consequently,to develope a Smart Meter with commucation that meet the request ofSmart grid is a urgent need of electric power system.This paper compose a network system based on PROFIBUS, The systemincludes PROFIBUS Master and Slave stations, And the master station consists ofSiemens PLC/CP5611, STEP7programming software and WINCC monitoringsoftware; the Slave station is a Smart Meter with PROFIBUS CommunicationFunction. This paper particularly propose a design of Smart Meter based onPROFIBUS.This paper introduce the background and purport of the research first, andoverview the present research condition and development trend of PROFIBUStechnology,And then introduce the PROFIBUS basic characteristics and PROFIBUSsystem totally design.This paper particularly designed the hardware and software of the Smart MeterWith PROFIBUS Communication Function. In hardware design, first give out atotally design, then have a design of the power module, measurement module, MCUchip peripheral module, display module, PROFIBUS communication module. Themeasurement module adopt a professional integrated chip71M6513. ThePROFIBUS communication module adopt80C51CPU, SPC3protocol chip. ThePROFIBUS communication module adopt the serial port then through theoptocoupler isolation connect with71M6513chip. In software design, put forwardthe totally design of the software, mainly illuminate the part of the PROFIBUScommunication function, soft clock function, measurement function, power-downmemory function; Then have a design of the initialization of MCU and inside card.Finally introduce the equipment database GSD file, and build the PROFIBUSnetwork test platform according to the design of host monitor,and then did a testtowards the PROFIBUS communication function of smart meter,besides,monitor the exchange of data in WINCC monitoring software, it’s feasibility that the PROFIBUStechnology is suitable to apply in the Smart meter communication.
