In order to overcome the problems exposed by the open-type heat source towerheat pump in the long-term engineering application, a new type of heat source towerheat pump technology was proposed in this paper. This technology makes use of heatsource tower with closed structure to extract low-grad cold and heat source from theair and fully reflects the comfort, energy-saving and environmental protectionrequirements of the HVAC system. However, because the launch time of thistechnology is too short, the theoretical research on this technology is nearly scanty.Therefore, there is an urgent need for the necessary theoretical research on theclosed-type heat source tower heat pump technology for the better extension of thistechnology.At first, this paper introduced the system structure and working principle of theclosed-type heat source tower heat pump and analyzed its main technicalcharacteristics. According to the basic principle of heat and mass transfer, thetheoretical calculation model of the closed-type heat source tower under wintercondition was established. Secondly, the calculation module of the closed-type heatsource tower heat pump under winter condition was established in the TRNSYSsoftware platform using FORTRAN programming language. And the accuracy of thecalculation module was verified through the comparison of the measured value andcalculated value. Then, the heat absorption property and anti-frosting performance ofclosed-type heat source tower in different city of the southern region were analyzedby simulation method using the calculation module that was established in theTRNSYS software formerly. Finally, three kinds of cold and heat source scheme weredesigned for the benchmark building. And the energy-saving advantage of closed-typeheat source tower heat pump relative to the traditional cold and heat source schemeswas analyzed using the simulation method.Conclusions are concluded. Firstly, the established calculation module has highaccuracy and is suitable for the simulation analysis of the closed-type heat sourcetower heat pump system. Secondly, the heat absorption property and anti-frostingperformance of the closed-type heat source tower in different city of the southernregion has great difference. Therefore, the application of the closed-type heat sourcetower heat pump in different regions should fully consider the characteristics of local climate. Thirdly, under winter condition, closed-type heat source tower mainlyabsorbs the sensible heat, but the latent heat exchange also plays a very important role.In addition, for the benchmark building, the closed-type heat source tower heat pumpsystem has obviously advantage in energy saving compared to the chillers andgas-fired boiler system and air source heat pump system. And its energy consumptionof the auxiliary equipment is significantly higher than that of the other two schemes.
