With the depletion of oil and gas resources in mainland China, the development of thesouth China sea oil and gas has become an inevitable trend, in order to meet the growingdemand for energy. FPSO is a floating platform which includes processing, storage, unloadingdevice and so on. Most of them use a single-point mooring system to ensure the normaloperation and to withstand a variety of marine environmental loads. This paper is mainly tocompare the different header lineā€²s effect on the motion characteristics, mooring system withthe bow wave. The design and analysis of mooring system and the modifications of bow lineis the key problem in FPSO design.This paper mainly studies the method to modify the bow line, the results which comparethe numerical results with the test results, the optimization of ship design and the verificationof the conclusions. It is divided into the following sections.Firstly, it is necessary that selecting the environmental parameters and designing thesingle point mooring system which includes the mooring lines. Wind, wave and current is theconditions of collinear. Creating a numerical model by the parameters of two vessels whichhas been given by CNOOC. We analysis the movement of the ship characteristics and themaximum tension of the mooring line, then get a conclusion by comparison.Secondly, according to the parameters of the ship, we establish the model and doexperiments in the pool to get the result. In order to verify its correctness and optimized value,we compared the numerical results with the experimental results.Lastly, we establish a numerical model and real ship model based on the value of the shipto get the results. Through comparative analysis, we verify the correctness of the optimizationand show the engineering significance.In summary, the entire results of the analysis provide the experimental basis for the basicdesign and detailed design of the FPSO. They will be a good reference for the design of shiplines.
