In recent centuries, with the world economy globalization, the rapid development ofinternational trade, the coastal and inland river waterway infrastructure, the world’s majorports’ navigable ability to increase, the maintenance of water flood control and theenvironmental protection and improvement and so forth, people’s demands for dredging havebeen increasing in many aspects. As a result, it will greatly enhance the amount of totaldredging around the world. China’s dredging market is so huge that its dredging investment,according to the forecast, is to be worth hundreds of billions dollars every year in the future.Thereby the dredging industry in China is confronted with the rapid development time andtime again, it will certainly also lead to the improvement of the dredging equipment.Considering all kinds of dredgers’ economy and work efficiency, the dustpan dredger with theadvantages of high suction efficiency, strong adaptability and preferable economy has beenobtained more and more attention. The dredging dustpan form make this type of dredgerextremely different from others, therefore, this paper will mainly analyze the dredging dustpanflow field characteristics.The dissertation firstly set up the theoretical framework of the dredging dustpanperformance, studied the computational fluid mechanics and two-phase flow theory on thedredging dustpan flow field characteristics, which provided the theory basis for the dredgingdustpan numerical simulation calculation, in addition, established the dredging dustpannumerical simulation calculation method. Secondly, The ICEM CFD software was used toestablish model and mesh, and the numerical simulation was as well performed through theFLUENT software under different operating conditions (slurry concentration and particlediameter), meantime, the flow field characteristics of dredging dustpan could be made acomparative analysis on the basis. It mainly included the contours of dredging dustpan internalflow field pressure, the outlet section velocity, the outlet mass flow rate and the amount ofsediment deposition, which could be expanded the research on the slurry concentration andparticle diameter impacting on the flow field characteristics of the dredging dustpan and begiven the study of the movement mechanism. Thirdly, the thesis of the CFD uncertaintyanalysis for the dredging dustpan’s inlet and outlet cross-section velocity ratio coefficient was made, using CFD uncertainty analysis of the validity of verification and validation for thecalculation results. It further enhanced the the accuracy and reliability of the numericalsimulation. Finally the paper discussed that how the different kinds of dredging dustpan formsaffecting suction efficiency, hence the work had much significant guiding significance for thesolution of the dredging dustpan optimization design.
