Dredger is one of the important tools in dredging projects. It plays an important role in waterway reclamation. The dredger has several types but its basic way of working is the same. Firstly the cutting tool such as bucket wheel, cutter and rake strip the silt, make it into slurry, and suck it into ship with pump. The sand in the dredger will be transported by other boats or directly discharge it to the surface of water. Some kinds of dredger will use a few kilometers of pipes transport the slurry to the shore on the reclamation projects. Cutter suction dredger is a type of the dredger which is suitable for mining loose sand, sand and mud.Due to the complexity of the dredging environment, dredging operators need to adjust the running state of the equipments constantly, preventing the pipeline from blocking and make dredging efficiency best. Because of the complexity of dredger’s equipment control system, it is hard for the operator to decide the best working condition, and make different dredging work in coordination. When the cutter suction dredger working, the pump and cutter’s energy consumption consist of the total energy consumption by80%. In order to reduce the energy consumption and improve efficiency, the pump and cutter’s running state should be optimized without pipeline blocking. Therefore this thesis puts forward a set of expert system based on the optimization solutions, and develops a software which analysis dredging operation data and help operators set parameters of the equipments’running state.This thesis firstly introduces the background of the research subject, the situation of optimization of the cutter suction dredger and the composition of the system. Based on the actual project, functional requirements of the system are analyzed. Secondly, based on the expert system this thesis designs the solution of cutter suction dredger’s optimization. According to existing dredge industry standard, mud conveying optimization theory results, the dredging simulation results, the dredging expert system analyze the dredging equipment’s working characteristics at the current construction situation, reasons out the construction parameters that maximizing the efficiency, minimizing dredging energy loss, making the parameters optimal, to achieve the purpose of optimizing dredging operations. Then, this thesis designed the dredging database of the expert system, and expounds the methods to acquire new knowledge. Then the expert system data analysis function are analyzed. For realizing the expert system’s intelligent parameters allocation function, the thesis give the detailed design of the optimization. Finally, using VC6.0as development platform, the thesis initially realized the function of analizing the dredging data and construction parameters optimization.
