During the recent30years of reform and opening-up policy, China has been in a periodof rapid development of infrastructure construction. A series of civil and transportationengineering and water conservancy projects have been built or under construction. Pilefoundation, which has a variety of advantages including large carrying capacity, high stability,small settlement value difference, good adaption to various geological conditions and loadcases, etc., has been widely used in the above engineering works. Port engineering is noexception as the convergence of terrestrial and marine transportation link. The piled wharfstructure has been widely used in China’s port engineering. The study on the factors affectingthe structural stability of the piled wharf based on pile-soil interactions is a valuableexploration to pile foundation parameter optimization. Moreover, because the cost of pile inthe piled wharf can account for almost half of the total cost of the whole wharf, this study isalso helpful for the economization on the cost of the project and the increase in projectinvestment income. To sum up, this study has important theoretical and practical significance.This thesis includes firstly a review and a summary of the results and status of thedomestic and foreign research on pile-soil interaction problem, and then an introduction to thebasic principles and the three research methods of pile-soil interaction problem–analytical,numerical and experimental, and finally an brief explanation to constitutive model ofgeotechnical materials, which is involved in the research of pile-soil interaction problem.Secondly, a physical experiment related to pile-soil interaction problem is based on toestablish a similar numerical model, the analysis results of which is then compared with theresults of the said physical experiment, and the feasibility of the proximate analysis of thethesis on pile-soil interaction problem is thereby proved.Lastly, In the research of the wharf structure stability, a geometric model of the piledwharf and foundation soil is established, selection appropriate constitutive model of materialsfor the soil and the reinforced concrete, define load and boundary conditions for the numericalmodel, then analysis of the physical and mechanical properties of soil and wharf parts and thefriction coefficient between pile-soil to wharf structure effect on the stability of the situation.Among them, the physical and mechanical property indexes of the soil include elastic modular, poisson’s ratio, friction and cohesion; the physical and mechanical property indexes of the pileinclude elastic modular and poisson’s ratio.The numerical simulation of this thesis can be used as a basis of site selection andstructural design in port engineering projects, and also a reference for follow-up study in thissubject.
