The Evaluation Of Recreational Use Of Yanghu Wetland Park In Changsha

With a very high ecological, social and landscape value, urban wetland park is an important part of urban ecological system. Since the establishment of Sanggou Bay Wetland Park in2004, the development of urban wetland park in China began to step in a new stage. But the rapid growth, at the same time, also leads to endless related problems. In addition, with a very short history, the urban wetland park is short of relevant theoretical research and lack of active guidance, thus limiting the recreation use of the built parks. Under this circumstances, this paper, on the basis of theories including post-occupancy evaluation, environmental behavior and recreation value, selected the biggest urban wetland park in Changsha as study case, by using the questionnaire survey, behavior observation and interview survey, the recreation use (consists of the development of recreation resources and products, the current use of recreational places and recreation value) of Yanghu Wetland Park was analyzed and evaluated, at the same time, the relevant suggestions were also made.Through the comprehensive analysis of results, it’s conclusions about recreation use of Yanghu Wetland Park are as follows:Firstly, this park is abundant of recreational resources and of great value, among which the wetland landscape and wetland plants are the most prominent; but there are many problems in its development, such as the tourism product development, comprehensive supporting facilities and so on.Secondly, the amount of tourists to Yanghu Wetland Park is small, but tourists overall satisfaction is very high, and the wetland plants/birds and being natural ecological are its main selling point; among all the functional zoning, waterfront recreation area and integrative service area are in accord with their functional theme. The waterfront recreation area is the most popular place; the comprehensive quality of tourists in Yanghu is high, the whole park is in a good state.Thirdly, the actual travel cost of tourists in Yanghu is about4.4million, but the overall recreation value of this park is about81.6million, the supposed recreation value is not in the full play, that’s also means that this park has a huge market potential.
