As the wide application of the artificial freezing technology in mine, tunnel, deep foundation pit and other engineering fields, research on frost heave problem of artificial frozen soil becomes critical. Through consulted a large number of information, summarized predecessors’ research results, the author found that research on frost heave constitutive model was still in the phase of theoretical analysis, the paper put forward for the first time that through the laboratory test method to study the performance of frozen soil frost heave and its constitutive model.By analyzing the frozen soil’s frost heaving mechanism and affecting factors, conclude that the moisture content, temperature of cold source, dry density and the external load are the main factors that influencing the frost heave of soil properties, which was obtained through orthogonal test of four factors on the frost heave effect progression.By self-developed system of test equipment, which could meet different conditions of frost heave test in laboratory, carrying out the frost heave rate of single-factor test, obtained the relationship of frost heave with the temperature of cold source, moisture content, dry density and the external load, the test data through regression analysis, obtained the corresponding relation equations.Through frost heave force test in single factor of frozen soil, obtained the relationship between frost heave force, temperature of cold source, moisture content, dry density and the external load, the conclude revealed the relationship between the four factors were in direct proportional. Combined with single factor experiment of the frost heave rate, obtained the artificial frozen soil frost heave constitutive model of the constitutive relation.According to engineering examples, using the parameters of the constitutive model, established the calculation model of freezing temperature field and stress field coupling, the model in simulation of artificial freezing method construction, the change rule of temperature field and stress field analysis is relatively accurate.Using ADINA finite element numerical analysis software to simulate the actual freezing engineering, and the frost heaving constitutive model conclude from the test research, the resulting show that the numerical calculation results and the measured results, the theoretical results are close to in displacement of sidewall calculation, and the feasibility on the frozen wall mechanics calculation with ADINA, at the same time it is proved that the accuracy of the frost heaving constitutive model. The test data show that the model to predict the frozen clay’s properties of frost heave very well.
