Internet of things-based power transmission equipment life cycle management systemplatform consists of four parts of the presentation layer, application layer, support layer and datalayer components. Wherein the support layer provides for monitoring the state of the equipment,maintenance (O&M) decision-making and the role of life-cycle performance management, andthe analysis of fault modes and fault tree for power transmission equipment can build theknowledge base and to provide the support of data on the late health status evaluation,maintenance (O&M) decision-making and so on.In this paper, transformers and transmission lines (including overhead transmission lines andcable lines) as the research object, using the failure mode analysis (FMEA). In-depth study ofspecific projects various types of equipment failure "fault symptoms"," detection method ","Failure Cause ","failure effects ","maintenance measures", systematically summed up all kinds ofequipment failure modes, failure mode analysis table obtained.Used the failure mode analysis table, based on the use of fault tree analysis method (FTA),established the transformers and transmission line fault tree analysis model.Finally respectively, through two transformers and transmission line fault examples forequipment failure modes and fault tree analysis for equipment operation and maintenance as wellas the safe and stable operation of power grid has guiding significance.
