Technology And Application Of PLC In Advanced Treatment Of Water Quality

With the use of the grass sand reservoir, the water quality in Shanghai has been effectively improved. But considering many other factors, such as the large demand of drinking water, dependence on the raw water of Huangpu River etc., the drinking water quality can still not meet the requirements in Shanghai and national standards. One of the basic ways to implement standard is to increase the advanced processing treatment. And the ozone-biological activated carbon process is the essential part, but for large-scale produce of ozone-biological activated carbon process, most domestic water supply enterprises are lack of long-term operation experience.Therefore, based on the advanced treatment process of Yuanjiang water plant and water quality characteristics of water plant, the PLC automatic control system of water treatment has been developed and implemented. Three key control schemes of water treatment has been discussed including pumping station, dosing room, carbon filter, in which the altitude control of pump plant reservoir, automatic filling of dosing system with the water flow, automatic flushing and water level automatic balance of carbon filter have been emphasized and analyzed in detail. At the same time, based on the RSView software, the function design and operation of water treatment plant monitoring system is also implemented.Through the preliminary research, engineering feasibility research, PLC programming, and the final linkage debugging, the advanced treatment and automatic production of water quality has been realized successfuly, and leading to labor-saving greatly. The water quality of Yuanjiang water plant is now more stable, which lays a solid foundation for future implementation of full automatic and self-service water plant.
