| As the quintessence of human rationality and wisdom, technology has alwaysbeen regarding as the being that brings the well-being to human society. However, with the development of technology, the technology alienation is loomingincreasingly. As an important branch of technology, military technology plays aunique role. Its specific character, applying to the wars, leads to the tremendousconsequences of military technology alienation. The era of nuclear weapon isthreatening the existence of all human beings; meanwhile the alienation of militarytechnology has reached to its peak. Therefore, the systematical and profound studyon military technology alienation is of great academic significance, and lays thetheoretical basis of formulating and implementing the specific measures as well.In order to acquire a comprehensive understanding of the military technologyalienation, the study starts with the reorganization of some basic definitions, such astechnology, alienation, etc. The thesis synthesizes various thoughts from differentschools, and works out the definition of technology alienation and militarytechnology alienation. The second step is to find the determining factors of this kindof alienation through its technological and military characters. From thetechnological perspective, the alienation caused by the natural attributes of militarytechnology is inevitable. However, the alienation caused by its social attributes, which can be boiled down to inappropriate strategic cultures, can be deduced. Fromthe military perspective, military technology mainly applies to wars, so theroot-cause of war became one of the factors. Thirdly, the two factors that contributeto the military technology alienation, the inappropriate strategic cultures and theroot-cause of war, are belong to the study range of international relations. Therefore, with the help of comparing and analyzing the differences between three school’stheories on strategic cultures, the social constructivism of international relations becomes the best solution to restrain the cause of wars and reduce the alienation ofmilitary technology. Finally, the last chapter discusses the philosophical thinking onthe social constructivism of international relations. The theoretical origins of thesocial constructivism of international relations are Aristotle’s thinking of linguisticphilosophy, philosophy of linguistics and Kant’s political philosophy. In view of theabove theoretical origins and the anti-rationalism and anti-materialism principles ofsocial constructivism, the theory is humanism regression. Thus, humanism regressionis the key principle that should be followed whether in the study of reducing themilitary technology alienation or its formulation and implementation of specificmeasures. In methodology, document analysis is the way to study the related informationand material, and to acquire rudimentary knowledge of the subject. In addition, thepaper combines the philosophy of science and technology with international relations. And comparative analysis is also used to study the three schools of internationalrelations in order to find out the best solution to alienation of military technology. |
