The Introspection About Design Alienation In Product Design And Exploring Ways To Solve It

Since the birth of civilization, human beings are working their best continuous to pursuit of a higher quality of life. With the birth and development of technology, people’s lives had reached unprecedented convenience and enjoyment. But with all this changes, there are some many problems attending, and alienation is one of them, Product design which is in close contact with humans is having an enormous impact of users, and now forming an new humanity lifestyle. The negative impact of this change is caused by design which bring slavery to human, namely the design of alienation. This paper is based on Marx’s theory of alienation and inspired by the concept of "technological alienation", trying to the proposed of the concept of design alienation. For the study also focused on the design of alienation in the context of product design. Firstly, through the philosophy of alienation come out of the design concept of alienation, and then review of the negative phenomena of contemporary design, Combining with the specific case, author analyzed and summarized the various design alienation exists. From a critical perspective on the alienation of contemporary design were analyzed. Among the many design alienation phenomenon, studied in this paper are those contrary to the ethics of design and design primitive design alienation. From the height of design ethics, researching the solution of design alienation. With the development of network and technology, today’s wearable mobile products let people achieve a more natural and humane way to interact. Therefore, wearable products as one of the ways to solve design alienation were analyzed and summarized in this paper.
