AC contactor played an irreplaceable role in the field of low-voltage distribution andload-switching control, it make the AC contactor play an important role in the automatic controlfield. The electrical life became the block on the developing road of the AC contactor, the arcmainly comes from the switching process, not only influence the contact but also influence theelectrical life of the AC contactor. In view of the above problems, solving the arc produced in theswitch process is the key point of the AC contactor’s electrical life.As to the problems in the closing and breaking process, we make the intelligentimprovement to solve them, the improvement includes two aspects: one aspect is theimprovement of electromagnetic system, this paper designs the corresponding experimentalcircuit used to determine the specific field parameters which mainly about the DC excitationvoltage and DC small voltage, the method is mostly solve the problem in the closing process;The other aspect is intelligent transformation according to the contact system, as to the breakingprocess, this paper adopts the contactless breaking concept. The specific approach is in eachphase of contact ends connect in parallel with a Bidirectional Triode Thyristor, and supportingthe corresponding design of drive circuit and trigger circuit. This makes Bidirectional TriodeThyristor realize shunt in AC contactor on-off process, namely Bidirectional Triode Thyristorbears the main circuit current signal before the on-off process. So it can make AC contactor toachieve arc-less closing operation, The greatly improves the electrical life of the contactor.Because of the complex environment in the operation process of the AC contactor, thispaper mainly provides intelligent functions for the AC contactor, it provide a clean environmentfor the AC contactor, As to this intelligent improvement, it will make the AC contactor moreintelligent.
