The main oil pump main equipment of steam turbine operation, the diaphragm coupling is the critical component of main oil pump. The diaphragm coupling is a kind of flexible coupling, it can transmit torque though a group or several groups of stainless steel diaphragm. It has a wide range of applications in steam turbines, because it can be used commodiously and its high compensation.At present, the middlesection of coupling uauslly rotated with high speed under the flexible connection, so the coupling vibration become the main vibration source of the rotor system, and the analysis of strength and dynamics of coupling are especiallyimportant. There are two reasons for the vibration, dynamic unbalance and misalignment of coupling, and they exist and work together at the same time. The critical component of the coupling the diaphragm can transmit torque and absorbed misalignment, and it often fractured beacause of alternating stress.The analysis of the diaphragm coupling of steam turbine is carried out in this paper, and the stress analysis of the diaphragm and its attachments was studied under different loads. In order to prolong the life of the diaphragm, the structure of the diaphragm and its attachmentsis optimized, the stress decreased and prolong the life.The theoretical analysis is applied to the steam turbine main oil pump of2#AV80-18steel section in energy power plant of Laigang, and the stability of the main oil pump operation is ensured. The stability of the main oil pump operation improved the operation status stability of the units, and it can improve the units efficiency and decrease gasoline consumption. At present, four bolts square groove diaphragm coupling is replaced with six bolt waist type one, and it has been promoted to the steam turbine main oil pump of1#and3#steel in energy power plant, and run well. The scheme has a certain economic value and technology popularization though economic and efficiency analysis.
