In this paper, we described the fundamental theory of Acousto-optic Tunable Filter, and introduced several important parameters in detail, designed the driving system, studied on the impact of AOTF optical characteristics which caused by the change of driving frequency, and then analyzed the reasons.The drive system as an important part of AOTF, directly determine its performance. We used more advanced Direct Digital Synthesizer(DDS) and Digital Singnal Processor (DSP) as the controller of the RF signal source, which improved the tuning accuracy、the scanning speed、the output power.Simulated the parameters of AOTF by MATLAB, introduced three methods of optical system, and mend the double system. This method can greatly improved the diffracted light intensity、signal detection signal-to-noise ratio、reduced the effects of light fluctuations and environmental noise.
